Frank L. Emanuel, Ph.D.

Frank Emanuel (he/him) is the Eclectic Doctor. Frank holds a doctorate in systematic and historical theology from Saint Paul University (jointly conferred by the University of Ottawa). His research focused on the narrative foundations for the theologies and practices of various expressions of North American evangelical Christianity.

Frank teaches systematic, historic, and political theology with Saint Paul University and the Ottawa School of Theology and Spirituality. Frank also teaches foundational software development with the faculty of advanced technology at Algonquin College primarily for the BITNet programme (joint programme with Carleton University). Frank is a consummate teacher committed to equipping people for the challenges that life has to offer.

Frank is currently serving as the congregational minister of Southminster United Church in Ottawa. Frank is available to churches for workshops on a variety of subjects as well as to provide theological consultation services. Frank is most comfortable working with congregations that are LGBTQ+ affirming and that have a passion for joining with God’s redemptive work in their neighbourhoods.
